Student Assistant (Hiwi) – Medical Education Research

Student assistant (8 hrs/week, from October 2026, min. 6–12 months) sought for the DFG-funded SHARP project at the TUM Medical Education Center – tasks include literature review, data collection, and annotation for an AI-supported, simulation-based learning environment on ward round communication; open to all fields of study, especially computer science/AI, cognitive science, or sociology.
At the TUM Medical Education Center, we are looking for a student assistant (m/f/d) starting October 2026 for subproject C03 of the DFG-funded research consortium SHARP. The project investigates how future physicians can improve their professional vision for communication during ward rounds. To this end, we are developing a simulation-based, AI-supported learning environment in which students use eye-tracking data, video material, and LLM-generated feedback to analyse and reflect on the communication and gaze behaviour of experienced physicians. Your Tasks: • Research related tasks; e.g. Literature review • Support with data collection (e.g. eye-tracking and video studies in clinical/simulated settings) • Data annotation and preparation (gaze, behavioural, and text data) • Support in preparing and following up on studies, as well as with the digital learning environment HOURS: 8 hrs / week DURATION: mind. 6–12 Monate START: from October 2026 LOCATION: TUM MEC / TUM Klinikum rechts der Isar Your profile: • Students from all fields of study are welcome — we are especially interested in fields such as computer science, AI/data science, cognitive science, or sociology (Master’s level) • Interest in AI/LLMs and/or empirical, interdisciplinary research at the intersection of technology, medicine, and education • Good to very good German and English skills • Reliable, careful, and independent way of working
