Master’s Thesis: Development of sustainable edible coating materials for food packaging applications
25.04.2025, Abschlussarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten
At the Chair of Brewing and Beverage Technology, we offer a project on food packaging applications.
The increasing demand for sustainable packaging materials has increased interest in developing biocomposites for food packaging applications. This project aims to contribute to this field by developing sustainable biocomposites using agro-waste biopolymers and reinforcing agents. The project will involve formulating biocomposites by varying these materials' ratios and processing conditions. Optimization of the formulation will be carried out to achieve desirable mechanical strength and barrier properties. Characterization of the developed biocomposites will be performed through physical and mechanical tests, including assessments of tensile strength, flexibility, water vapor transmission rate, and oxygen permeability. These tests will provide valuable insights into the performance of the biocomposites for food packaging applications.
