CIT/EI Master Forschungspraxis: Satellite data processing for VPRM model
17.01.2025, Abschlussarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten
VPRM (Vegetation Photosynthesis and Respiration Model) is used to evaluate biogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Satellite data, such as EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) and vegetation fraction, are critical for VPRM input. Optimizing workflows for handling large-scale data processing is a critical challenge, particularly in transforming satellite-derived inputs into formats suitable for coupling with models like WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting). This project focuses on enhancing the existing code framework to streamline data upscaling, ensuring efficient and stable results.
Requirements:
Python skills.
Interest in environmental modeling and remote sensing
Experience with satellite data processing or WRF is a plus
