Are you interested in health and food research? The Chair of Sport and Health Management offers students the possibility for interdisciplinary research (i.e., write a bachelor or master thesis). The topic is: "Stress as a moderator of perceived difficulty of healthy cooking on healthy at-home cooking and eating-related subjective wellbeing".
The thesis focuses on the perceived difficulty of healthy cooking and cooking behavior. When under stress, people tend to engage in simpler cooking tasks and consume a poorer diet. This prediction arises from the lay theory that cooking healthily is a complicated task requiring more effort to maintain one's health. The perceived difficulty of healthy cooking may affect one's decision to cook a healthy meal when stressed. Therefore, this research aims to build a deeper understanding of the lay theory that "healthy cooking = difficult." Implications for food marketing, individual and family health promotion as well as public policy making can be drawn upon the findings of the thesis.
