Master student in the development of medical sensors (f/m/d)

03.05.2024, Diplomarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten

We now seek a highly qualified and motivated Master student (f/m/d) to design, develop, and test novel optoacoustic sensing platforms for clinical use.

The Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich are an integrated, multi-disciplinary research unit, which provide bioengineering solutions to urgent societal needs. CBI scientists develop next-generation imaging and sensing methods to measure previously inaccessible properties of living systems, hence, catalyzing breakthroughs in biology, medicine, and the environment. Comprising 11 inter-disciplinary laboratories and scientists from more than 25 countries, CBI offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for innovative research and an ideal environment to accelerate your career.

The Mission:

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of our novel optoacoustic sensing platform for early detection of cardio-metabolic diseases as well as characterization and classification of skin diseases. You will be part of our highly impactful research programs funded by European and national grants. You will plan, design, and manufacture our sensor to be used in clinical trials, work on data acquisition and data analysis. The results of your work will not only accelerate your scientific career, but they are also expected to greatly impact society, improving the quality of life of patients world-wide and yielding a vast potential for commercial exploitation.
