Master's/Bachelor's Thesis or Forschungspraktikum: Biocompatible hydrogels development with antibacterial properties to be used as feed to 3D printers
09.11.2021, Diplomarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten
We investigate the potential options of hydrogels to be used as feed to advanced 3D printers for final soft protective layers having antibacterial properties.
We are looking for students for Research Internship or Master’s/Bachelor’s Thesis in the above thematic area.
The experimental research will involve hydrogels’ preparation in the laboratory by simple crosslinking (one or two stages). An advanced fully-computerized rheometer will be used for characterizing the mechanical properties of the hydrogels. A texture analyzer will be employed for targeted compression or extension measurements.
Both characterization techniques are essential for various materials in the food and pharmaceuticals industry. The directions of research will be adjusted to the level of the Thesis and the corresponding time (Master’s/Bachelor’s, Forschungspraktikum)
Requirements
• Interest in state-of-the-art technology and experimental research
• Independent, reliable, and careful laboratory work
Tasks
– Sample preparation and development
– Conducting experiments (e.g., at the rheometer)
– Timely report of the work progress
If you are interested, please send a short e-mail application (in English or German) to the following researcher or by direct contact for further details after an appointment.
