We, the Glucose Sensing Team within the Group for Translational Optoacoustics, led by Prof. Miguel A. Pleitez, at the Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI), Technical University of Munich (TUM), and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich, are seeking a highly motivated student from Natural Sciences or Engineering to join our mission to revolutionize non-invasive glucose sensing.

Pleitez, at the Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI), Technical University of Munich (TUM), and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich, are seeking a highly motivated student from Natural Sciences or Engineering to join our mission to revolutionize non-invasive glucose sensing.

We offer a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research, combining advanced optomechanical systems, hands-on experimentation, and data analysis to address one of the most critical challenges in healthcare. If you're curious, driven, and eager to make a real impact, we want you on our team! This role requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week, with a start date as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:
Innovation in Optomechanical Systems: Collaborate with a leading research team to build and refine cutting-edge optical and mechanical setups for glucose sensing technology.
Hands-on Experimentation: Dive into exciting experiments that push the boundaries of non-invasive biomedical sensing, working directly with advanced equipment.
Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Analyze data from experiments, extract meaningful insights, and help shape the future of this groundbreaking technology.

Who We're Looking For:
• You’re currently pursuing a degree in Natural Sciences (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, …) or Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering).
• You are passionate about optics, biomedical imaging and sensing, and data analysis.
• You’re curious, self-motivated, and eager to work independently in a cutting-edge research environment.
• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., MATLAB, Python) and experience with optical systems would be an asset.
