Student Assistant non-invasive glucose sensing (f/m/d)
11.09.2024, Wissenschaftliches Personal
We are seeking a highly motivated student from Natural Sciences or Engineering to join our mission to revolutionize non-invasive glucose sensing.
Are you passionate about scientific discovery and cutting-edge technology? We, the Glucose Sensing Team within the Group for Translational Optoacoustics, led by Prof. Miguel A. Pleitez, at the Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI), Technical University of Munich (TUM), and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich, are seeking a highly motivated student from Natural Sciences or Engineering to join our mission to revolutionize non-invasive glucose sensing.
We offer a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research, combining advanced optomechanical systems, hands-on experimentation, and data analysis to address one of the most critical challenges in healthcare. If you're curious, driven, and eager to make a real impact, we want you on our team! This role requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week, with a start date as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
• Innovation in Optomechanical Systems: Collaborate with a leading research team to build and refine cutting-edge optical and mechanical setups for glucose sensing technology.
• Hands-on Experimentation: Dive into exciting experiments that push the boundaries of non-invasive biomedical sensing, working directly with advanced equipment.
• Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Analyze data from experiments, extract meaningful insights, and help shape the future of this groundbreaking technology.
What We Offer:
• Be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment at the intersection of biology, engineering, and medicine.
• Work with state-of-the-art optoacoustic/optothermal technologies for imaging and sensing in an innovative research facility at the Central Institute for Translational Cancer Research (TranslaTUM)
• Opportunities for professional growth: enhance your skills in optical systems, data analysis in the realm of non-invasive biosensing.
• Flexible working hours (15-20 hours per week) to suit your academic schedule.
• The chance to contribute to real-world solutions for medical challenges, with a clear path to innovation and impact.
Who We're Looking For:
• You’re currently pursuing a degree in Natural Sciences (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, …) or Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering).
• You are passionate about optics, biomedical imaging and sensing, and data analysis.
• You’re curious, self-motivated, and eager to work independently in a cutting-edge research environment.
• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., MATLAB, Python) and experience with optical systems would be an asset.
How to Apply:
If you're ready to contribute to groundbreaking research and technology that will help transform healthcare, send your CV, transcript of records, and a brief cover letter outlining your interest and qualifications to constantin.berger@tum.de.
The position is suitable for disabled persons. Disabled applicants will be given preference in case of generally equivalent suitability, aptitude and professional performance.
