single cell RNAseq of the human immune system

Computational Biologist (E13 or E14)

29.12.2020, Wissenschaftliches Personal

The interdisciplinary research center TranslaTUM at the Technical University of Munich in Germany is looking for a Postdoc/PhD in single-cell Bioinformatics Single-cell technologies have recently gained tremendous popularity with a big impact on understanding the pathogenesis of diseases and the design of targeted therapies. Analyzing high-dimensional single-cell data has its own statistical and computational challenges, and standard tools often cannot be applied. The purpose of the position and goal of the project is to develop and apply bioinformatic tools for the analysis of high-dimensional immunological data sets. Our laboratory (Zielinski lab) focusses on human T cell regulation in health and disease. We are currently deciphering the heterogeneity and regulation of tissue resident T cells at single cell resolution in human peripheral tissues. Application documents (motivation letter, CV, certificates, two references) should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than 31th March 2021 as a single PDF file to christina.zielinski@tum.de For more information: www.zielinskilab.com

Your responsibilities:
- implement, develop and extend methods for processing and analyzing single-cell RNAseq
and protein profiles (FACS, CyTOF)
- develop methods for second level analyses e.g. interaction networks, enrichment analyses
- biological interpretation of data
Your qualification
- PhD/MSc degree in bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics, life sciences
- background in Machine Learning and/or RNAseq analysis
- interest in biological applications
- passion for science and scientific work
- proficient in written and spoken English

Our offer:
- Working in an innovative, highly funded and scientifically stimulating environment
- A young and dynamic international research group
- Further training opportunities and international lab rotations
- Initial employment contract for up to 3 years with a standard public service salary (TV EntgO
