The work is done in the context of Long-term storage for research data. Up to now the data is provided centrally, but this is going to be changed. Help in designing a concept how to deal with distributed data and then distributing the data and testing the concept is also part of the job. Wider context of the project This PhD scholarship is funded by LfU. The overall aim of the PhD fellowship is to improve our understanding of the hydrogeology of the deep Malm aquifer. Scientific focus of the announced PhD position In this study we want to study the Upper Jurassic aquifer in the northern Bavarian Molasse Basin, where complex geochemical reactions under reducing conditions have characterised the chemical evolution of the groundwater. This groundwater system may also be affected by incongruent dissolution of different facies types, ion exchange, and to some extent by bacterial sulfate reduction. Dating old groundwater is a key factor for the understanding of the hydrogeology of deep groundwater systems. Therefore the project will identify and analyze the hydrogeology and the water age distribution of the deep Malm aquifer using cutting-edge analytical tools such as stable isotope technique and noble gas isotope. To reach the scientific goals the research ques-tions will primarily be investigated using laboratory experiments linked to field investigations. Qualifications At the date of appointment candidates must hold an MSc degree in natural science, preferably with a specialization in the following fields: bio-/chemical/environmental/ hydrogeological sciences. The successful candidate must be an efficient team worker, have good communication skills and have a critical approach to the formulation and testing of hypotheses. Practical experience and willing to work in the field is a prerequisite. Hallo, ich suche für die Zeit meines ERASMUS-Aufenthalts einen netten (männlichen) Zwischenmieter für meine WG. Einzugsfähig wäre das Zimmer so am 15. Februar. Es kostet 260€ warm, dazu kommen noch 17€ für Internet, Telefon und Süddeutsche Zeitung. Es ist eine 3er-WG unterm Dach, das Zimmer selbst ist 14qm groß. Unsere Wohnung ist relativ neu, es gibt eine große Küche, ein Bad und ein WC. An das Zimmer ist ein Balkon angeschlossen. Da ich das Zimmer danach wiederbeziehen werde (gegen Ende Juli, vielleicht auch etwas später), ist es möbliert mit: Bett, Schrank, Schreibtisch sowie bei Bedarf mit einem Fernseher. Wichtig wäre, dass du Spaß hast ein bisschen im Garten unserer Vermieter mitzuhelfen, als Gegenleistung haben wir dort die Möglichkeit uns gärtnerisch auszutoben und besitzen einen eigenen Lagerfeuer- & Grillplatz.
