09.09.2026, Student assistants, internships, student research projects
Develop AI methods to design novel therapeutics
You'll work closely with me, an AI methods expert, and a drug discovery scientist to facilitate the interdisciplinary nature of this project.
## Your profile - strong coding experience (python, torch) - experience in implemeting AI methods (e.g. reproducing state-of-the-art methods) - experience analyzing real-world data (bulk RNA-seq or comparably messy high-dimensional biological data). - comfortable in a collaborative, fast-moving scientific environment.
## We offer - an opportunity to publish, - a close, hands-on supervision, - embedding in the Helmholtz Munich research environment.
## Details - Duration: at least 6 months.
Possible projects will range from analyzing a proprietary dataset of paired small-molecule perturbations, each with a bulk transcriptomic profile matched to an ECM-deposition phenotype read out by high-content imaging; toxicity or mode of action prediction; to developing multimodal transformers and novel reasoning appraches for de novo design of novel antifibrotics.
## How to apply
Send the following by 31.09.2026 (applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis): 1. CV (max 1 page) 2. Short motivation on why you want to work with us and possibly what would be your ideal project (max 5 sentences)
