Student Assistant (HiWi): AI Tutor for AI-assisted programming lecture

Your tasks
During the first part of the position, you will work closely with the lecturer to develop the seminar concept, technical materials, and practical exercises. This includes preparing an accessible introduction to programming and creating examples and guidance that help students use generative AI effectively and critically during software development.
Once the seminar begins, you will support student teams during selected sessions, help them understand and troubleshoot their implementations, and encourage good practices in testing and documentation. Together with the lecturer, you will also evaluate the course and revise the materials so that the seminar can be improved and established for future semesters.
The role is intended to support students’ learning. You will not be expected to provide complete solutions to their projects.
Your profile
- Good Python and general programming skills
- Experience using generative AI tools for programming
- Basic knowledge of Git
- Very good English skills
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly
- Reliable and independent working style
- Interest in teaching and interdisciplinary sustainability projects
Experience with web development, testing, or deployment is helpful but not required.
Position details
- Location: TUM Campus Straubing
- Duration: 1 October 2026 to 31 July 2027
- Workload: approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Mandatory participation: The successful applicant must attend the kick-off seminar of the KI-Tutorien Bayern programme. The programme also includes further training, networking activities, and a certificate.
