HiWi Position: System Engineer for bi-Manual Mobile Manipulator in Geriatronics Tasks

We are seeking a highly motivated HiWi to work our Bi-Manual Mobile Manipulator at MIRMI. Starting from 04/2025, the project focuses on integrating technologies developed by team members from diverse research backgrounds and demonstrating the capabilities of the new bi-manual mobile manipulator in Geriatronics applications.
The selected candidate will play a critical role as a system engineer, robotic engineer, and software engineer in ensuring the successful operation, testing, and demonstration of the system.
Responsibilities
System Operations: Operate and maintain the self-developed bi-manual mobile manipulator.
Scene Setup: Prepare physical and simulation test environments, including setting up scenes for experiments and digital twin models.
Technology Integration: Deploy functionalities and software modules onto the robot.
Experimentation: Conduct experiments, collect and analyze results, and document findings.
Reporting: Compile experimental results and write reports for internal and external dissemination.
Qualifications
Academic Background: Pursuing or holding a degree in robotics, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with robotic simulation environments such as Isaac Sim/Lab, Genesis, or pyBullet.
Strong programming skills in Python, ROS, and C++.
Hands-on experience with robotic systems, particularly manipulation and control.
Desired Experience
Experience with integrating and deploying robotic software modules.
Prior work with bi-manual manipulation or mobile robotics.
Research background of mobile manipulation, SLAM, foundation models
