About Us

The Professorship for Learning Sciences and Educational Design Technologies at the Technical University of Munich is dedicated to exploring how creative design technologies can enhance STEM learning in both school and out-of-school settings. We focus on fostering equitable access to technological skills and the role of digital tools in education.

Within the Co-designing a Risk-Assessment Dashboard for AI Ethics Literacy in EdTech project (https://www.ieai.sot.tum.de/research/co-designing-a-risk-assessment-dashboard-for-ai-ethics-literacy-in-edtech/ ) we have developed a set of scenarios and activities for young people to engage with AI technologies and develop AI ethics literacies. This project responds to the rapid integration of AI-based technologies into education (AI EdTech). While the potential for improved learning outcomes is important, the emergence of AI in education also brings ethical and legal challenges, ranging from bias issues to threats to privacy. By addressing the challenges of AI EdTech ethically, the project hopes to empower decision-makers with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexity of AI in education. We are currently implementing the scenarios and activities into a website where educators and learners can directly engage with AI tools an activities to develop AI ethics literacy.
