A student assistant position (HiWi) is available at the Professorship of Optimization and Sustainable Decision Making.

A student assistant position (HiWi) is available at the Professorship of Optimization and Sustainable Decision Making within the project “Ko-op Dienstplan”. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and aims to provide a web-based optimization tool for hospitals to digitalize the monthly shift planning for physicians. The working hours per week are flexible depending on the preferences of the candidate and the position is initially offered for 6 months with the possibility of a later extension. All work can be done remotely from home.
Join our team and gain insights into academic work. You have the opportunity to participate in a research project and contribute to the development and practical application of an innovative software tool that supports the digitalization of the German healthcare system.

Tasks:
• Support for the development of the Python tool with the Flask web framework
• Server deployment and administration for a (virtual) Linux server

Desirables:
The ideal candidate will have:
• Knowledge of server deployment
• Python programming skills, preferably experience in working with the Flask Framework
• Strong interest, experience, and familiarity with setting up Software tools, and knowledge in software architecture
