Bachelor / Master Thesis: What was before the brain tumor? Recovering the original state of the brain for digital brain tumor twin.

Recovering the original state of the brain for digital brain tumor twins using MRI.

We want to model brain tumor growth for personalized radiotherapy planning based on 3D magnetic resonance images (MRI). A critical aspect of this research involves reconstructing the brain's original state to understand the complete tumor growth trajectory comprehensively. Current methodologies lack the necessary precision for clinical usage. Thus, your role will address the challenge of accurately recovering the brain's initial state using image registration techniques [1] or other methods.

Your qualifications:
• Deeply motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in medical applications.
• Currently enrolled in a computer science or a related field.
• Preferably experienced with image registration or 3D image processing.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

What we offer:
• A chance to be part of a project with profound implications for clinical practice.
• Close supervision and state-of-the-art hardware
• An environment of collaboration with leading experts in image processing, deep learning, biomedical engineering, and medicine.
