Student Assistant in Bioinformatics

Bioinformatic student assistant position - contribute to research projects in immunology with single-cell transcriptomic data analysis.

We look for a motivated HiWi-student in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology who contributes in a team effort to unravel the regulation of the human immune system in inflammatory diseases, organ transplantation and infections and to discover novel immune cell subsets and regulatory checkpoints that could be exploited for successful therapies and vaccination strategies. We also study organ and stem cell transplant tolerance mechanism. We have scRNAseq data sets from 10x Genomics available and need you for data analysis using already implemented bioinformatic pipelines. You will be part of a group of other currently 7 HiWi-students from TUM and Tübingen. Several HiWis have already contributed to publications and received authorships.

Job: HIWI-Position, 5-20h/week (more or less hours also possible, flexible, home office, with regular zoom meetings)

Qualifications: Applicants should be students of bioinformatics/computational biology and be highly motivated to contribute to single-cell RNA-seq data analyses and preparation of manuscripts for publication. Good organization skills. Expertise in R or Python required.

Where: flexible from home office. The research group is currently located at the Leibniz Institute in Jena with ongoing projects in Munich. Meetings will be held via Zoom.

When: The HiWi position is available immediately.
