Fully Funded PhD Positions in MSCA Doctoral Network RAICAM - Robotics & AI for Critical Asset Monitoring

We are looking for 1 PhD Position to work at the Technical University of Munich (Garching Campus) within this multi-disciplinary cohort.
This is an exciting opportunity to do a PhD in Robotics and AI on an important topic in a well-funded multi-disciplinary international training network. The training involves multiple activities, in addition to your research, and secondments across our partners.
Overview
RAICAM aims to train a cohort of 10 PhD students to work on the next generation of mobile robots for inspection and maintenance of industrial facilities. RAICAM will develop a multi-domain, multi-agent robotic sample retrieval system that will be able to obtain surface swabbing samples of critical infrastructure buildings for chemical or biological analysis. Eligibility Criteria
• Not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Germany for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment date (July, 2025).
• University curricula.
• Skills and academic background matching with the research project, and academic records (including transcripts) at masters level or equivalent degree level.
• Creative and innovation potential, ability to think out of the box.
• Motivation of the candidate for inter-disciplinary research.

Salaries
Successful candidates will be employed on a 36 month contract with a salary of approx. 3,400 euros per month gross*; plus 600 euros mobility allowance and (if applicable) 660 euros family allowance. The research costs of the host organisation(s) are also supported**.
*Salary is scaled based on a pre-defined Country Correction Coefficient. In case of Germany, that would be: 0.983.
