The TUM Campus in Heilbronn is part of the renowned Technical University of Munich, one of the top universities in Europe. TUM is one of Germany's first three Excellence Universities. Furthermore, the TUM School of Management is the first management school at a technical university in Germany to receive Triple Crown accreditation. Worldwide, only about 80 institutions (approximately 1%) hold this distinction.
The Heilbronn Data Science Center is dedicated to interdisciplinary research in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and their applications in business and society. Our goal is to create direct value for science, businesses, and policymakers through practice-oriented analyses and innovative data-driven solutions.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow (PostDoc) to join the Marketing Analytics team at TUM Campus Heilbronn, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Christine Eckert. This position is available immediately and is fixed for a term of 3 years, with the possibility of extension. In addition to research, the fellow will also take on teaching responsibilities.

Research focus:
Our Marketing Analytics team focuses on the quantitative-empirical analysis of consumer and business behavior, the impact of new technologies on this behavior, as well as the resulting implications for consumer welfare. Our research is interdisciplinary and based on collaboration with the fields of Information Systems, Finance, and Psychology.

Your tasks:
• Participation in high-quality research projects aimed at publication in leading international journals
• Presentation of research findings at international conferences
• Teaching in the fields of Marketing and Statistics
• Supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s students
• Administrative tasks
• Collaboration with other universities, research institutions, and industry

Your profile:
• Completed PhD degree in business/management, data science, information systems, psychology, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of quantitative methods, particularly in statistics and econometrics; experience in machine learning is a plus
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
• Ability to conduct independent scientific research
• Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based analytics platforms is an advantage
• Knowledge of web scraping from publicly available websites is beneficial
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency in the German language is an advantage but not required
