The TUM Chair of Data Science in Earth Observation develops innovative methods, including artificial intelligence, for extracting information from remote sensing data. We are looking for an Academic Councilor (grade up to A14) to start as soon as possible. The position can also be filled as an employee and paid according to TV-L up to E14 (as Science Manager) and is initially limited to 3 years.

The TUM Chair of Data Science in Earth Observation develops innovative methods, including artificial intelligence, for extracting information from remote sensing data. We are looking for an Academic Councilor (grade up to A14) to start as soon as possible. The position can also be filled as an employee and paid according to TV-L up to E14 (as Science Manager) and is initially limited to 3 years. Requirements: Promising candidates need a completed doctorate in the field of computer science or natural sciences/engineering. In addition, we expect:

• Specialized knowledge in the field of earth observation/remote sensing or in the processing of geodata
• Proven scientific reputation in the field (e.g., proven by international publications)
• Experience in staff management and project management
• Teaching experience
• Very good knowledge of German and English

Tasks:

• Responsibility for administrative processes at the chair (e.g., in the area of personnel, resources, infrastructure, etc.)
• Own research work
• Coordination of teaching activities at the chair and own teaching in accordance with legal requirements (usually 5 SWS)
• Representation of the chair holder in university self-administration committees
