PhD student position "Computer vision and multi-modal learning"

The multi-modal learning group is seeking to fill a PhD position in computer vision and multi-modal learning. We aim at advancing video understanding from multiple data modalities, such as sound, vision, and text.

About us

The junior research group is led by Dr. Almut Sophia Koepke, and attached to the Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML). We are located at the Chair of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence at TUM, headed by Prof. Dr. Daniel Cremers.


Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You will develop a PhD research project in multi-modal machine learning with sound, vision, and language.
  • The ideal starting date is as soon as possible.

Your qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in one of the following fields: computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science, or physics.
  • Strong programming skills and solid mathematical background.
  • A very good command of the English language.
  • Enthusiasm for research. 

Benefits

  • We offer a fully funded position as academic staff with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. Payment will be based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service of the Länder (TV-L E13). The project funding will initially run until 30.09.2027 with a possible extension.
