Mobility Solution Scientist (m/w/d) for Urban Mobility

04.09.2024, Wissenschaftliches Personal

The Chair of Automotive Technology is looking for research associates in mobility and transportation research.

Motivation

We are working on one of the most important challenges of our time: the CASE megatrends (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) are fundamentally changing people's mobility: in future, we will have to rely more heavily on digital, sustainable and shared solutions to meet our transportation needs. As one of the 14 Clusters4Future of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, MCube aims to put these megatrends into practice in metropolitan areas. As part of MCube, we as the Chair of Automotive Engineering stand for data-based and analytical methods in the research cluster. We work together with dozens of partners from research and industry, from OEMs to innovative start-ups, and implement developed solutions in real-world laboratories.

Become part of our Smart Mobility Lab at the Chair of Automotive Engineering and actively shape the future of mobility!

Your Challenge

We are looking for an enthusiastic Mobility Solution Scientist (m/f/d) with a passion for shared mobility. In the ComfficientShare 2.0 project, the sharing of private vehicles in residential neighborhoods is being investigated and business models based on this are being developed. The aim is to use the experience gained from the previous project to develop even better shared mobility solutions that significantly improve current services. You will always maintain an overview of the project, as well as the economic and scientific environment of shared mobility. In addition, you will work on the collection and analysis of mobility data in the real-world laboratory and derive data-based insights for your personal research topic. Through successful project management and innovative research, you will further develop the topic of mobility of the future!

Your Profile

As an ideal candidate, you will have a Master's degree in engineering, engineering sciences, computer science, traffic engineering, electrical engineering or another STEM discipline. Above all, however, you are strong in communication and organization in order to hold your own at the interface between business and science. You have initial programming skills in a high-level programming language (e.g. Python, Java), are passionate about developing new mobility solutions and are ready to help shape MCube through your commitment.

Your Opportunities

As part of our team, you will actively shape the mobility transition and build up a valuable network of players from industry and science. You will have access to extensive tracking hardware, server infrastructures and databases for your role in the Smart Mobility Lab. You will take on responsibility in the project right from the start and work in a team of experienced smart mobility experts who will shape mobility together with you. As part of your work, you will continuously expand your knowledge, pass it on and supervise student research projects in order to actively help shape the urban mobility of the future. You will have the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D.

What We Offer

  • Temporary full-time position according to TV-L E-13 100% for a total of 3 years
  • Possibility for doctoral studies and start-up founding
  • Innovative research area with high societal interest and relevance
  • Modern working environment and infrastructure
