Administrative Project Manager for the MARGIN project (m/f/d)

The Chair of Hydrogeology is currently looking for an Administrative Project Manager (50 %, m/f/d) for the research project MARGIN (Managing Groundwater Sustainability in Urban Areas: Quantifying the vulnerability of groundwater quality & quantity to climate change and urbanisation, and developing adaptation measures for cities), funded by the EU-Interreg Alpine Space Programme.

The Chair of Hydrogeology is currently looking for an Administrative Project Manager for the research project MARGIN (m/f/d).

MARGIN (Managing Groundwater Sustainability in Urban Areas: Quantifying the vulnerability of groundwater quali-ty & quantity to climate change and urbanisation, and developing adaptation measures for cities) is funded by the EU-Interreg Alpine Space Programme.

About us:
The Chair of Hydrogeology comprises four working groups with more than 30 scientific staff. The Geothermal En-ergy working group is involved in 14 ongoing projects on the research and utilisation of near-surface and deep geothermal energy, groundwater and underground management. Our motivated team of project staff and doctoral students are working together to advance climate neutrality and the municipal heat transition. Your area of responsibility is the administrative management of the
• project MARGIN, funded by the EU-Interreg Alpine Space Programme
Your tasks will include
• coordination of the project partners and organisation of internal project communication
• planning, organisation and implementation of international and national meetings
• financial management and reporting in the project.
• You may also be involved in scientific work and documentation.

The requirements profile expects
• experience in project work and project management (ideally in EU projects) or a degree from a
university or university of applied sciences
• confidence in the use of communication tools and MS Office user programmes
• organisational skills and assertiveness
• joy in international cooperation and strong communication skills
• fluency in written and spoken English
• interest or experience in the field of geosciences and energy-related topics as well as special issues in the Alpine region
• willingness to travel in the Alpine region if necessary.

We offer
• a 50% position (up to TV-L E13) at the Chair of Hydrogeology, limited until 31 August 2027
• the position is part-time and can be combined with the advertised position Administrative Project Manager GIGA-M

The MARGIN project
• aims to qualitatively and quantitatively assess the vulnerability of groundwater resources in urban areas to climate change and urbanisation, to identify areas at risk and to develop strategies and adaptation measures to changing groundwater conditions.
• analyses the requirements and current status of groundwater management in the Alpine region. The cities of Munich, Milan, Ljubljana and Linz serve as pilot areas.
• implements sustainable groundwater management in the pilot cities.
• creates a toolbox with guidelines, gamebook, best practices and YouTube shorts.
