Research Associate / Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d) in the field of Computational Solid Mechanics (EG 13 TV-L, full-time/part-time)

The position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis for a period of 3 years. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to pursue a doctorate. You will be part of the Collaborative Research Center Transregio 277 Additive Manufacturing in Construction (AMC) in the new project B06: Material Modelling and Simulation of Deposition AM Processes on the Part Scale. The project is jointly supervised by Prof. Dr. Ralf Jänicke (Institute of Applied Mechanics, Technische Universität Braunschweig) and PD Dr. Stefan Kollmannsberger (Chair of Computational Modeling and Simulation, Technische Universität München).

Your tasks • You will develop material models for concrete, dive into computational homogenization, improve modern, unconventional simulation methods, and come forth with your own ideas on how to simulate the process of additive manufacturing. • You will publish research findings and participate in national and international conferences. Your Qualifications • You have a degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus on continuum-solid mechanics and computational methods. • You have experience in and like coding. In this project, Julia and C++ will be utilized. • You have experience in and like implementing Finite Element routines. • You have very good English language skills. German language skills are of advantage. • You are flexible, can perform under pressure and work well in a team. • You are aiming for a doctorate.
