PhD/Postdoc position in trustworthy data-driven control and networked AI for rehabilitation robotics
11.02.2022, Wissenschaftliches Personal
The Chair of Information-oriented Control (ITR) offers a PhD/PostDoc position within the 6G-life Research-Hub „Digital transformation and sovereignty of future communication networks”. TU Dresden and the Technical University of Munich have joined forces to form the 6G-life research hub in order to drive cutting-edge research for future 6G communication networks with a focus on human-machine collaboration. The merger of the two universities of excellence combines their world-leading preliminary work in the field of Tactile Internet. 6G-life will provide new approaches for sustainability, new concepts for security and solutions for current latencies in communication networks. About us:
At the Chair of Information-Oriented Control we focus on research and teaching of control and optimization of cooperative, networked, and distributed dynamical systems. We develop novel methods and tools for the analysis and control of such systems, taking particularly into account model uncertainties as well as limitations pertaining to acquisition of data, communication, and computation. We apply our methods mainly to human-robot-teams, haptic assistance, cyber-physical systems, and infrastructure systems. While our core competence is control engineering, we have some interdisciplinary collaborations with the fields of psychology (in human-robot interaction) and communications (in networked control systems). Many of the developed methods are experimentally validated in our multi-robot lab.
Your qualifications:
We are searching for outstanding candidates, with a successful degree (master/ diploma/doctoral/PhD) with exceptional records. A strong disciplinary background in
• control, system theory and optimization
• machine learning
• robotics and/or mechatronics
• computer languages C, C++ and Python
and interest to work in an interdisciplinary environment are desired.
German language skills are necessary for this position.
Our offer:
We offer a full-time position as academic staff with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. Payment will be based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service of the Länder (TV-L E13). TUM strives to raise the proportion of women in its workforce and explicitly encourages applications from qualified women. Applications from disabled persons with essentially the same qualifications will be given preference.
