Postdoctoral Position in Production and Resource Economics

The Agricultural Production and Resource Economics Group at the Center of Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan (WZW), Technische Universität München (TUM) offers a Postdoctoral position.

Your tasks
The successful applicant will support the Chair Group in research project activities and develop his/her own research agenda in the fields of

  • Production economics (production modelling and optimisation, productivity and efficiency analysis, technological change, economics of innovation, investment and cost analysis, policy effects analysis) and/or
  • Resource economics (economics of biodiversity, water resource management, soil economics, bioeconomic analysis, hydroeconomic modelling, climate change economics, but also the economics of biotech). 
Your qualification
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in agricultural, environmental, or natural resource economics, general economics, statistics, or related disciplines. A clear interest in applied statistics and econometrics as well as exceptional analytical skills are required. The successful candidate will have a strong and proven focus on publishing in international peer-reviewed outlets and attracting competitive funding. An ability to work effectively in a young and dynamic research team that is internationally engaged through interdisciplinary research collaborations will be crucial. Example projects (e.g., EU, DFG, BMBF, ministry) can be found on our homepage (www.pur.wzw.tum.de). Regions for current research collaborations comprise among others South Asia and Africa. An interest in supplementary teaching is an advantage.

The successful applicant will be part of a highly motivated, young and dynamic research team at one of the finest universities of the world. Salaries are based on the German state regulated public service salary scale (E13 TV-L 100%). The appointment is initially for a period of two years starting 1st of January 2018.
