Post-Doc position (f/m/d) in the field of antiviral immunology

18.10.2021, Wissenschaftliches Personal

Project Description In a DFG-funded project on infection of the liver with hepatitis B viruses, we are characterizing the immune determinants for control of infection vs failure to control of infection. The focus of the project is on virus-specific CD8 T cells and the local hepatic regulation of their effector functions through environmental and cytokine-induced signals. The AG Wohlleber is looking for a Post-doctoral researcher to investigate the regulation and dynamics of CD8 T cell immunity and identify mechanisms or pathways that will decide whether an HBV infection will develop into acute or chronic infection. Your expertise - PhD in life sciences, preferably (liver) immunology and/or viral hepatitis. - Experience in high-dimensional flow cytometry for phenotyping of immune cells and in functional assays determining T cell functions - Experience with in vivo experiments in preclinical model systems of viral infection - Excellent writing and communication skills - Experience in RNA-sequencing and bio-informatic analysis is a plus - Flexible team player We are offering excellent research conditions, a highly motivated and interdisciplinary team, a friendly working atmosphere and possibilities to further extend your qualifications through educational programs within the DFG-funded collaborative research center SFB-TRR 179. The position is available from the December 1st 2021 for 2 years, with possibility for extension. Interested candidates should send a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae and at least two reference letters (or the referees’ contact info) as a single document.
