Am kommenden Donnerstag, den 12. Juli, wird Prof. Dr. Julian Nida-Rümelin vom Lehrstuhl für politische Theorie und Philosophie an der LMU München, Vorlesungszyklus zum Thema "Rückkehr der Wahrheitsfrage?" der Carl von Linde-Akademie der TU München beenden. Der Titel seines Vortrags lautet "Demokratie und Wahrheit". Zum gleichen Thema hat Nida-Rümelin 2006 ein Buch bei C. H. Beck veröffentlicht, dessen zentrale These lautet: In einer Demokratie muss nicht auf Wahrheitsansprüche verzichtet werden, um den zivilen Frieden zu sichern. Sie sind erforderlich, damit sich die Demokratie gegenüber ihren Feinden behaupten kann und sie tragen die deliberative Praxis demokratischer Institutionen. Der Vortrag wird diese These und ihre erkenntnistheoretischen und ethischen Voraussetzungen diskutieren.
