The Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) at the Technical University of Munich and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at the Helmholtz Zentrum München in Munich, Germany, are an integrated, multi-disciplinary research structure focusing on developing optical and optoacoustic imaging and sensing methods to measure previously inaccessible properties of living systems, with the goal of catalyzing breakthroughs in biology and medicine. Comprising 11 laboratories and a multitude of researchers from more than 25 countries, CBI/IBMI offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for innovative research and forms the cornerstone of a rapidly expanding bioengineering ecosystem involving the newly founded Munich School of Bioengineering, the Research Center TranslaTUM, which integrates bioengineering and oncology and the Helmholtz Pioneer Campus, which brings together bioengineering and metabolic disorders;. Der m4 Award richtet sich an Wissenschaftlerteams an Universitäten, Universitätskliniken und außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtungen in Bayern. Gefördert werden innovative, ausgründungsorientierte Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekte im Bereich der personalisierten Medizin. Mit der Förderung sollen signifikante Entwicklungsschritte (proof-of-concept) erreicht werden, die eine Anschluss- oder Gründungsfinanzierung ermöglichen. Es können Projektfördermittel für bis zu 2 Jahre (Richtwert 250.000 Euro pro Jahr) beantragt werden. Zusätzlich erhalten die erfolgreichen Projekte ein professionelles und individuelles Projektmanagement, Coaching und maßgeschneiderte Beratungsleistungen im Wert von bis zu 30.000 Euro.

Maschinen mit Köpfchen - daran arbeiten Wissenschaftler unterschiedlicher Disziplinen an der TU München (TUM). Auf der Fachmesse Automatica, die vom 8. bis 11. Juni in München stattfindet, stellen die Forscher aktuelle Projekte aus. Das Spektrum reicht vom Roboter Rosie, der in der "Kognitiven Küche" selbstständig lernt, den Frühstückstisch zu decken, bis zu einem ethernet-basierten Automatisierungssystem, das sich nach dem Prinzip "Plug & Play" selbst konfiguriert.

Das ZIEL Institute for Food & Health ist eine zentrale Einrichtung der Technischen Universität München mit Sitz in Freising-Weihenstephan. Wir suchen zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt (voraussichtlich zum 01.11.2015) eine/einen Doktorand/in. Es handelt sich um eine Teilzeitstelle (50%). Beginn ist um 18.00 Uhr im Hörsaal A des Klinikums rechts der Isar, Ismaninger Straße 22. Der Eintritt kostet 50 Euro, inklusive Abendessen.
