Context: The Smart Energy Living Lab demonstrator installed at fortiss represents a self-balancing prosumer (producer and consumer) that can be seen as smart grid node. The systems integrates regenerative energy production and storage with an office automation systems that is equipped with sensors and actuators. The software solution stack (SMG2), developed at fortiss, autonomously monitors and controls the devices by an adaptable rule system and user interaction via mobile apps. Objective: For controlling and monitoring various renewable energy and storage devices, WAGO (www.wago.com) offers an expandable system that is already used in the field of system automation. The objective is to connect WAGO to the Living Lab system by establishing a communication with WAGO system and use SMG2 for control and monitor it from external applications. Therefore Wago (which has a Embedded Linux as Operating System) offers a way to run an OPC UA (https://opcfoundation.org/) server on it. This Server application has to be compiled and installed on the WAGO System. Then, an OPC UA Client has to be implemented into the SMG2 as a separate bundle using Java. An der Technischen Universität München (TUM) sollen künftig alle Aspekte des Forschungsdatenmanagements (FDM) von einer zentralen Stelle, dem RDM@TUM, koordiniert werden. Das RDM@TUM wird in den kommenden Monaten als Serviceeinrichtung aufgebaut, die kooperativ von der Universitätsbibliothek der TUM und dem Munich Data Science Institute betrieben wird und die FDM-Services beider Einrichtungen integriert. Die Data Stewards großer Forschungsprojekte an der TUM werden zentral im RDM@TUM angesiedelt.

Die Münchner Projektgruppe Sicherheit und Zuverlässigkeit des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Sichere Informationstechnologie (SIT) ist seit 1. Juli eine selbstständige Fraunhofer-Einrichtung für Angewandte und Integrierte Sicherheit. Dies ist der zweite Schritt auf dem Weg von der Projektgruppe zum eigenständigen Institut. In enger Kooperation mit der Technischen Universität München (TUM) arbeiten die Forscher daran, die Sicherheit von Cloud-Computing und Eingebetteten Systemen zu erhöhen. Weitere Ziele sind, Produktpiraterie zu verhindern oder vernetzte kritische Infrastrukturen zu schützen.

Am Donnerstag, 13. Dezember 2007 trägt im Regelungstechnischen Seminar Herr Dipl.-Ing. Carsten Preusche vom Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, Oberpfaffenhofen zum Thema "Telepräsenzsysteme für den Weltraum - Bilaterale Regelung von Master-Slave Systemen mit Totzeit" vor. Der Vortrag findet um 16 Uhr, diesmal ausnahmsweise im Raum MW 3237 (Gebäude 2, 3. Stock, Zugang über den Balkon) der Fakultät für Maschinenwesen statt. Alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen.

Professorship of Multiscale Modeling of Fluid Materials at the Department of Mechanical Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Ph.D. candidate to develop and apply novel deep learning approaches for multiscale simulations.

We are an active and lively research group who is passionate about science.
