Projects with insects and food webs from September 2023 to June 2024

Master thesis (6 months), Internships and HIWIs (exceptionally Bachelor thesis also possible)
We are working on different projects regarding climate impacts on bee and butterfly phenology and land use impacts on grassland food webs. We are looking for motivated students to be part of the different stages of the projects.
• When? Between September 2023 – June 2024 (duration varies)
• Positions available: Master thesis (6 months), Internships and HIWIs (exceptionally Bachelor thesis also possible)
• Type of work: Literature synthesis, semi-field experiments at TUM, field experiments across Germany
• Tasks: Literature search, field collection, observational records, taxonomic determination of invertebrates, chemical ecology laboratory work
• Requisites: Motivation, responsibility, interest in the natural world, time availability, interest in statistics and/or taxonomy. Certain positions require you to pass a test in data wrangling with R Software (but not all!)
• We offer: training, guidance, travel costs for field experiments are covered (accommodation and transport), possibility to be part of publications, a great working group environment
