Munich & TUM: How to get things done

You're new in Munich, possibly even for the first time in Germany?
Surely you have lots of questions:
• Where/How do I find a place to live?
• Where are the surrounding ATMs?
• Where can I find cheaper food?
• Where / How do I find a phone or at least a suitable prepaid SIMcard?
