Exhibition: Samurai. Splendor of Japanese chivalry
Saturday 02.02.2019 11 am - 01 pm
Welcome to a visit of the exhibition "Samurai. Splendor of Japanese chivalry" at Kunsthalle München.
For centuries, the samurai shaped Japan's history - not just as warriors but as a political elite. Their myth tells of bravery and discipline, of loyalty and noble self-sacrifice - but also of betrayals, intrigues and merciless violence.
Their armor made with the highest craftsmanship from precious metals and precious fabrics were not only effective protective armor, but also impressive status symbols.
The exhibition brings the exciting history of Japanese chivalry to life with the help of magnificent exhibits.
