A weekend in Leipzig & Dresden

Welcome to a pre-Christmas trip to Leipzig and Dresden.

Leipzig and Dresden are the two largest cities in the east of Germany. We're going to Leipzig early on Friday. Leipzig is a historic, but also modern city with many attractions. It is an old trading center and here is where the revolution started that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall and resulted in German reunification in 1990.

Dresden is known for its baroque old town. Much of it was destroyed in just one night during World War II, but has been rebuilt in recent years.

Both cities have well-known Christmas markets, which we will visit. On Sunday evening we will be back in Munich.
