Weekend in the Bavarian Forest (National Park)
Saturday/Sunday 05./06.11.2016
The Bavarian Forest, together with the Bohemian forest (in the Czech Republic) is a part of Central Europe’s most expansive forested area.
It is a part of the ancient Hercynian Forest, of which today’s Black forest was also a part. Nested between the river Danube (Donau) and the Czech and Austrian borders, the Bavarian Forest (Bayerischer Wald) is still untouched. The region boasts of nearly 60 peaks with altitudes upwards of 1,000 m (3,280 ft).
Standing tallest among these is the Großer Arber at 1,456 m (4,777 ft). Bang in the centre of the region is the Bavarian Forest National Park (Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald). Conferred the status in 1970, it is the oldest and the biggest national park in Germany. The area is often dubbed a nature lover’s paradise, with pristine glacial lakes, breathtaking mountain view points, hundreds of kilometres of hiking and cycling trails.
Come be a part of a magical weekend among mesmerizing landscapes. We will leave Muenchen early Saturday morning, and spend the rest of the day being wooed by nature and her beauty.
We will spend the night in a nice and cosy cabin in the Forest bonding over some great food, drinks & games. We will also make excellent use of the Sunday before heading back to Muenchen later in the evening, leaving you craving for more, and just in time to put your tired bodies to bed, in preparation for another week of work.
