Proposal Writing and Recruiting Workshop
In line with its internationalization strategy, the Chair for Agricultural Production and Resource Economics aims to attract excellent candidates from Egypt as PhD students. Accordingly a proposal writing and recruiting workshop will be held in Cairo, Egypt on November. Interested students with a background in agricultural economics habe been invited to submit their applications. Selected candidates will take part in the workshop.

Science Diplomacy and Recent Developments in Biology
The Cairo Science Forum: Science Diplomacy and Recent Developments in Biology will take place in Cairo from November 19-21, 2019 at the Auditorium of National Research Centre, Cairo. The forum is organized under the auspices of H.E. Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Sakr, President of Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Egypt and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hashem, President of National Research Centre (NRC), Egypt. The aim of the forum is to inspire exchanges between colleagues from all over the world and from all biological sub-disciplines – and beyond – in order to promote biological research across these disciplines. During the forum, TUM Cairo Liaison officer will hold a presentation about TUM and the postdoc opportunities available.

Surveying Health, Aging and Retirement in Egypt and the Middle East
Am 24.11. findet ein High Level Kick off Meeting zum Thema „Surveying Health, Aging and Retirement in Egypt and the Middle East”. Vertreter der Ministerien für Social Solidarity, Hochschulwesen und Gesundheit sowie auch der Deutschen Botschaft und der AUC werden eingeladen. Beim Meeting geht es darum, Stakeholdern das Konzept von Health, Aging and Retirement Studies vorzustellen um Möglichkeiten zu eruieren, diese Studien in Ägypten einzuführen. Das Konzept wird vom Prof. Dr. Axel Börsch-Supan/Professur Economics of Aging an der TUM und Koordinator des Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE).

Surveying Health, Aging and Retirement in Egypt and the Middle East
A high level kick off meeting will take place on November 24, to present the topic „Surveying Health, Aging and Retirement in Egypt and the Middle East”. Representatives from the Ministries of Social Solidarity, Higher Education and Health as well as the German Embassy and the American University in Cairo will be invited. The meeting aims at introducing the concept of Health, Aging and Retirement Studies to the stakeholders and explore the possibilities of introducing these studies in Egypt. The concept will be introduced by Prof. Dr. Axel Börsch-Supan/Professorship of Economics of Aging at TUM and coordinator of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE)
