Photography competition: Biodiversity through a lens

Your creativity is needed! Grab your cameras and set off! What do you see? Use your photos to show what nature and biodiversity mean to you and why they should be valued. The Green Office Weihenstephan invites you to participate in the "Biodiversity through the lens" photo competition! You can submit one photo in each of the following categories: Biodiversity in the city, People and Nature and Macro World Wonders. The photo competition is open to all age groups and both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to submit their entries. Participants under the age of 18 must enclose a declaration of consent from their parents. All photos must be submitted by e-mail to greenoffice.weihenstephan@tum.de. TUM@Freising: Haben wir die Bienen gerettet? Biodiversitätskrise in Bayern und weltweit

Vor fünf Jahren haben sich mehr als 1,7 Millionen Menschen in Bayern im Volksbegehren „Artenvielfalt & Naturschönheit in Bayern“ für den Schutz der Bienen und der Natur positioniert. Zeigen die daraufhin eingeleiteten Maßnahmen Wirkung? Was sind die Ursachen der Biodiversitätskrise in Bayern und weltweit – und was haben die Pflanzen mit dem Insektensterben und der Verarmung unserer Vogelwelt zu tun? Wie muss sich unsere Landbewirtschaftung ändern? Können wir im städtischen Bereich den Lebensraum für Pflanzen und Tiere bieten, den es in der Agrarlandschaft nicht mehr gibt? Nach mehr als zehn Jahren Forschung zu Wildbienen und Blütenpflanzen in Freising und an anderen Orten in Bayern wird Prof. Schäfer, Leiter der Professur für Biodiversität der Pflanzen, in seinem Vortrag Probleme und Lösungsansätze aufzeigen. Dabei geht es insbesondere darum, wie wir alle unseren Beitrag zum Schutz der Artenvielfalt leisten können.
