Prof. Gabriele Weber-Blaschke

Bioeconomy – what does this mean for sustainable forestry and the timber industry? Prof. Gabriele Weber-Blaschke, Head of Research Area Resource Flow Management, Wood Research Munich (HFM) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), will address this question in a lecture from the TUM@Freising series on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Lindenkeller Freising.

The goal of the bioeconomy is to transform a fossil-based economy into a biomass-based economy. But how can the greatest impact and CO2 savings be achieved? What consequences will changes in use have for the forestry and timber industry? Is there even enough wood available to achieve the goals?
Relevant content, understandable language, and entertaining presentations—this is how TUM@Freising brings science to the city. A discussion following each lecture is expressly encouraged, because science thrives on the exchange of ideas.
