Tuesday 14.11.2023, 15:00
Speaker
Prof. Dr. Janina Isabel Steinert, TUM Professorship for Global Health
The TUM San Francisco Dialogue Decolonizing Global Health – Considerations of North-South Relations for Equitable Global Health Collaboration delves into decolonizing the global health field.
Historically, global health research has often perpetuated prevailing global power imbalances by sidelining voices and perspectives from the Global South. This has the potential to hamper the development of contextually relevant health interventions and to perpetuate healthcare disparities.
Decolonizing global health is essential for promoting sustainability in healthcare interventions.
Our panelists will explore these challenges and propose strategies to foster equitable collaborations between researchers and partners in the Global South and North.
