They involve citizens coming together to take charge of the transformation of their local energy systems towards renewable sources. These cooperatives, as a blend of association and capital company, are democratically organized, thriving on collective decision-making. TUM provides a unique platform to experiment with the possibilities of an academic energy cooperative. Students, researchers, staff, and professors can bring their knowledge and apply it in practice. As the TUM community, we can expand the concept of the energy cooperative. In addition to the sustainable transformation of our energy systems, this concept also offers the opportunity to test teaching and research concepts in practice and conduct proof-of-concept studies! In our upcoming meeting, we'll start with an overview of our mission and then present the current progress and potential first projects. Afterwards, we will discuss the next steps we want to take as an initiative.
