In this seminar, participants will learn about the various funding options for financing a doctorate in Germany. Together we will discuss both the administrative implications for scholarships and employment contracts as well as the practical ways in which funding affects your everyday work at the department, your relationship to your supervisor and your overall role in the academic environment of TUM. The seminar will offer insights into important questions, such as: What are my options for doctoral financing at a German university? How can I increase my chances of finding financing? What are the consequences of different funding models? The seminar will follow an interactive format with sufficient time for discussing participants individual questions related to doctoral financing. Optionally, there will also be room for discussing the topic of cooperative doctorates with universities of applied sciences.
