Workshop
Workshop FMT-XCT (Hybrid Fluorescence Molecular Tomography – X-ray Computed Tomography System)
Donnerstag 24.11.2011, 13:00 - 17:30
Welcome note
On November 24th we have the pleasure of introducing the world’s first Hybrid Fluorescence Molecular Tomography- X-ray Computed Tomography (FMT-XCT) modality. FMT-XCT is a unique combination of anatomical imaging, using X-ray Computed Tomography with functional and molecular imag- ing using optical tomography of fluorescent molecular probes. The technology, developed under FP7 European funding and the collaboration of seven European partners has been now installed at two Munich locations (at the Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technische Universitat München and the Helmholtz Zen- trum München at Neuherberg) in order to reach the scientific community at large and is available for pre-clinical small- animal imaging.
To celebrate this achievement and to educate interested users on the benefits and characteristics of the system, half day of scientific presentations and a discussion on the FMT-XCT platform is planned. After the technical presentations, a sum- mary of the FMT-XCT platform will be presented by Prof. Vasilis Ntziachristos. To highlight the power of hybrid imaging, a ple- nary talk on the first clinical experience from TUM’s hybrid PET-MRI imaging will be given by Prof. Markus Schwaiger fol- lowed by a reception.
It would be an honor to have the pleasure of your attendance and we look forward to seeing you on this hybrid imaging Munich day!
With best regards,
PROF. VASILIS NTZIACHRISTOS M.Sc. Ph.D.
