Have you already been to the Alps? The geographic location of the city of Munich is ideal to do one-day-trips to the beautiful Alps, which is one of the great mountain range systems of Europe.

The Alps stretches from Austria and Slovenia in the east through Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany to France in the west. The highest mountain in the Alps is Mont Blanc, at 4,810.45 meters, on the Italian–French border.

In July, we will go hiking on a mountain approx. one hour South of Munich. You can enjoy amazing panoramic views, fantastic nature and beautiful landscapes. For lunch we will probably go to a traditional restaurant on an alp.

The difficulty of the hiking trip is not decided yet. I will decide about the route and its difficulty according to your wishes. Thus, families (with children) as well as single “hikers” are welcome to register!

The program that has been newly established was specifically designed for all international postdoc researchers, guest lecturers and professors as well as their partners and children. It is aimed at showing you a few more facets of TUM, Munich and Bavaria to help you to feel at home during your stay as well as facilitate the networking among each other and with your German counterparts. Therefore the program is open to everyone who wants to join and if you like and places are available you can also bring your friends along.
