Munich – “Beer Capital of the World”
Samstag 13.08.2011, 10:00 - 16:00
Whenever you ask people what first comes into their mind when thinking of Munich, two of the most common answers are Oktoberfest and beer. And it’s true: there are many different breweries in Munich and its surroundings – such as Löwenbräu, Hofbräu, Paulaner. Every year in September Munich also hosts the world famous Oktoberfest which even celebrated its 200 years anniversary in 2010. Thus, one can truly call Munich the “Beer Capital of the world”!
In August we would like to introduce you to the long tradition of beer making in Bavaria. Therefore, we will first visit a “Beer Museum” and then have a guided tour through a brewery. Afterwards we will have a beer along with a typical Bavarian “Brotzeit” (Southern German; meaning a meal consisting of bread, cold cuts, cheese etc.).
When: August 13th, 2011 (meeting time to be announced later)
Meeting Place: Will be announced later
