DA/MA/BA: Development of a concept for supporting interorganizational configuration management using the example of GÉANT-project

15.10.2010, Diplomarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten

IT services are increasingly being designed and provided as part of collaboration of various providers. One example here fore is the European GÉANT project. The goal of this project is to provide a European communication infrastructure for research institutions and universities. In Germany the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum (LRZ) is involved in this project.

A service provision at European level by the different involved providers poses multi-faceted challenges to the overall IT service management.
One is to provide management-relevant information to the different parties.
In the GÉANT project the sub project iShare (http://www.lrz.de/projekte/geant/I-SHARe/) was launched to achieve this goal.
In ITIL, a best practice framework for IT service management, it is the task of configuration management to provide the necessary management information.
For this purpose, a tool, called a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is used.

In this work, a concept based on SOA needs to be developed that describes the necessary services that are relevant to ensure that the CMDB from different providers play together with a central data source.

The modeling can be done using UML or BPMN.
