Spatial-temporal information from high density surface electromyographic sensors in grasping movements

Some robotic arms and hands allow for dexterous manipulation beyond the possibilities of volitional control available with current man–machine interfaces. In order to improve those methods, spatial information is being included, especially interesting in combination with high density electromyographic sensors.

Task description:
This thesis aims at recording different biosignals while executing simple grasping movements and evaluate the muscle activation at a spatial level. Different signal features may be explored to obtain more specific classifications of the movements included, that can then be used to control artificial limbs. A simple GUI is required to record data in a controlled manner.


Technical requirements:
Knowledge of or strong interest in C#, python or Matlab are required (potential C++ integrations are possible).
