English-Language Forms and Aids to Understanding of Official German Documents

To facilitate onboarding for our non-German-speaking employees at TUM, we have made a selection of key human resources forms and documents available in English translation. A distinction is made here between forms that can be completed and submitted in English and documents that are not themselves legally binding but serve only as aids to understanding to complete the official German form. In addition, we continue to expand the English-language information available to employees in the TUM Services Directory. 

Recruitment forms: 

Recruitment documents are categorized by type of employment and can be found in the Forms archive. Where an English version of a form is available, it will be located below the German version in the folder corresponding to the relevant category.
Whether the form is merely an aid to understanding or can be completed and submitted in English will be indicated on the form itself. 

Employment contract:

Due to legal requirements, the employment contract is drawn up in German only. While the wide range of provisions under labor law applicable to any one employment contract makes it impossible to provide English-language information tailored to each specific employment contract. Widely available online translation tools can offer support for understanding individual employment contracts.
