Ph.D. Student Position in Bioeconomy Modeling

The Chair Group of Agricultural Production and Resource Economics at the Center for Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan, Technical University Munich (Germany), offers a Ph.D. Student Position in Bioeconomy Modeling starting at the earliest on March 15, 2018.

Tasks
The successful candidate is expected to actively engage in an international project on Modeling the Bioeconomy funded under the EU’s H2020 program. Core aspects are: reviewing of data providing systems and assessing their usefulness for the quantification of bioeconomy indicators and developing methodologies for short term econometric and trend analyses for better monitoring the bioeconomy.

Required skills
Applicant should

  • have a university degree in economic modeling, applied economics (e.g., agricultural, environmental, or natural resource economics), or related disciplines;
  • possess strong analytical skills and have a profound theoretical and methodological background with a focus on quantitative methods (e.g., econometrics, equilibrium modeling);
  • be highly motivated and able to work independently with a strong team orientation;
  • have an interest in teaching;
  • have very good English language and writing skills.
