System Administrator (m/f/d)

The Chair of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Medicine (www.aim-lab.io) at the Technical University of Munich is looking for a System Administrator (m/f/d) to manage the internal SLURM cluster.

The responsibilities include
  • Administration of the GPU cluster (5 nodes à 8 GPUs)
  • Management of up to 100 rotating cluster users
  • Administration of GPU workstations for employees and students
  • Maintenance and operation of running server systems (Linux, database server, NAS)
  • User and access administration
  • Maintenance of the IT infrastructure
Requirements

Applicants should have experience in the field of system administration, in particular with SLURM and GPU clusters. Relevant education or an academic background is advantageous (apprenticeship, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree). We are looking for an independent and reliable person with a good command of English, knowledge of German is not mandatory. Remote work is possible, however, we prefer applicants within a reasonable commuting distance to our servers in Garching, as occasional physical access may be required.

You will work closely with a young, international, and multicultural team of scientists from the fields of artificial intelligence, bioengineering, computer science, imaging and sensor technology and gain insights into a scientific working environment. The Technical University of Munich is one of the best academic institutions in Germany and offers a stimulating working environment and excellent future prospects. The position is initially limited till end of 2025. Payment will be based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service of the Länder (TV-L), depending on qualifications and seniority up to TV-L E13.
