The TUM herewith invites applications for professorships in the following research areas:
· Mathematical foundations of ML
· Explainability, trustworthiness, and robustness of ML
· Deep learning architectures and Generative AI
· Big data and cloud-based systems
· Human-centered data analytics and data visualization
Scientific Environment
The professorships will be assigned to the TUM School of Computation, Information & Technology, Department of Computer Science, located at the TUM Campus Heilbronn and affiliated with the HDSC.
The Heilbronn region is a strong and successful high-tech region in Europe with many cooperation opportunities and various educational institutions. In particular, the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI) constitutes a unique innovation platform out of Heilbronn. The HDSC is intended to act as a thematic link between various disciplines – especially Computer Science and Management – to achieve advances in Data Science.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching in the university’s bachelor and master programs, as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. Teaching responsibilities include contributing to the "Information Engineering" study programs at the TUM Campus Heilbronn. Participation in the conception and development of possibly further study programs is desired.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please see www.tum.de/en/faculty-recruiting-faq/ for further information).
A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
